PhD position in dog behaviour

The Division of Biology at Linköping University invites applications for a four-year PhD position as part of a large-scale project to address outstanding questions on behavioural problems in companion dogs.

Your work assignments

Behavioural problems are common in the companion dog population, with upwards of 80% of dogs in Europe, Australia and the United States exhibiting maladaptive behaviours. However, our understanding of the underlying cause of behavioural problems in dogs, to a large extent their effects, and how to prevent them remain poorly understood. Running in parallel with a large-scale project on the causation of behavioral problems in dogs, this PhD project will focus on investigating how behavioural problems affect the human-dog bond and how they can potentially be prevented.

This project includes travel activity and time spend abroad where the PhD candidate will be required to work both independently and as part of an international team.
