Postdoctoral Fellowship, Laboratory of Immune System Biology (LISB)

National Institutes of HealthNational Institute of Allergy and Infectious DiseasesLaboratory of Immune System Biology (LISB)

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), one of the largest institutes of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and part of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), conducts and supports a global program of research to better understand, treat, and ultimately prevent infectious, immunologic, and allergic diseases.

The Computational Systems Biology Section in the Laboratory of Immune System Biology (LISB), NIAID, seeks candidates for a quantitative experimental biology postdoctoral fellowship position. Located on the NIH main campus in Bethesda, Maryland, this fully funded position will allow the successful candidate to work in a highly collaborative interdisciplinary environment as part of a team of experimentalists and computational modelers.

This position will focus on using 3D high-resolution microscopy techniques (spinning disk confocal and others)…

Postdoctoral Fellow/Early Age Immune Responses to Vaccines

  • US Food & Drug Administration | Maryland (Silver Spring)

Job Type: Postdoc Fellowship

Description: We are using neonatal mice from immunocompetent as well as various transgenic backgrounds to study the immune responses to diverse vaccine platforms including mRNA vaccines (SARS-CoV-2) and novel delivery systems. The analysis of immune response involves detailed investigation of the cellular and molecular mechanisms controlling the development of follicular helper T (Tfh) cells and germinal center B cells. The candidate will participate in experimental design, immunization and analyzing cellular and molecular responses to vaccines in addition to writing manuscripts and presenting her/his work in national and international meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry or a related discipline (Qualified candidates with master’s degree will also be considered)
