science writing summer fellowship in VA
My name is Caroline Blair and I work at VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center in the Office of Cancer Research Training and Education. I wanted to contact you in regards to a fellowship we offer for PhD candidates who have completed their qualifying exams and postdoctoral students who are interested in the field of scientific writing and thinking of steering away from academic research.
We are reaching out to spread word to those who might be interested in such an opportunity. Please let me know if you have any questions or students who might be interested! Applications close April 3, 2024.
The Walter Lawrence Writing Initiative (WLSI), is a 6-week hybrid internship (5 weeks online, last week in person, 30-hours a week) from June 3-July 12, 2024.
Development of a foundational understanding of scientific writing careers including grant writing, manuscript writing, public relations communications and clinical trial protocol writing.
Mentored experiences with Massey experts and portfolio development opportunities
Invitations to participate in Massey-led events throughout the year to enhance professional and personal development
Stipend of $3000
