For the first time in seven years, the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) has an open call for their Summer Award.
The program offers an individual the opportunity to spend two months of the summer conducting research at a Japanese university under the guidance of a host scientist.
The award includes a stipend, airfare, medical insurance, and a small research budget. All U.S. pre- and (recent) post-doctoral researchers in the sciences and humanities are eligible.
