Summary of Duties:
The Animal Sciences Department in the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences (CAHNRS) is accepting applications for a temporary part-time instructor for Spring Semesters. The position is responsible for all aspects of instruction of Anim_Sci 485; a three-credit undergraduate course in Applied Animal Behavior focusing on livestock species, that is also designated a "writing the major" (M) course. The instructor will develop the syllabus and curriculum, deliver all lectures, create grading rubric and graded assignments, grade material including mandatory writing components, manage and assign grades and ensure that course objectives and learning outcomes are attained. The preferred candidate will hold an earned PhD in livestock ethology or Animal Sciences/Biology with demonstrable knowledge and training in behavior, have teaching experience, and be energetic and effective in the classroom. The appointment may be renewed each spring semester based on need, performance and availability of funds.
Required Qualifications:
Earned degree in related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Earned PhD in livestock ethology or Animal Sciences/Biology
Demonstrable knowledge and training in behavior
Higher Education Teaching Experience
