Research social scientist, Research vet scientist, Research Coordinator Positions @ Colorado State University

The Animal Human Policy Center at Colorado State University is hiring three remote, year-long positions to contribute to a research project on stakeholder perspectives towards implementation of the Animal Welfare Act. The Center is hiring two full-time research scientists as well as a research coordinator, which are all starting August 1st.

The research scientist positions include one qualitative research social science position requiring a PhD (salary $85,000-$100,000/annually) as well as one veterinary research scientist position requiring a DVM/veterinary background (salary $90,000-$105,000 annually). The research coordinator position (salary $55,000-$70,000/annually) is focused on assisting the research team with budgeting, logistics, communications, and data analysis.

All positions will work with Co-PIs Dr Rebecca Niemiec and Dr Lori Kogan on a stakeholder analysis to inform the first external evaluation of USDA's Animal Care program. This program implements regulations established under the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) and the Horse Protection Act, which set standards for the humane care and treatment of certain animals exhibited to the public, sold for use as pets, used in research, or transported commercially throughout the United States.

Please see below for detailed descriptions of the positions and the link to apply. Applications are due by July 1st, 2024 for full consideration.
